Maya is a visual artist living in the mountains of Asheville, NC. Graduating with a BFA in Studio Art from Western Carolina University, she studied painting and played on the Division 1 Women's Golf team. In Florence, Italy she practiced art restoration at the Lorenzo de Medici Instituto, and completed a summer residency program at the New York Academy of Art. In her studio, she works on acrylic, oil and, watercolor commissions and is currently creating a series of interior landscapes. Her paintings have been featured in galleries and exhibitions, including The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts and Maria V. Howard Art Center.
Live event painting is the perfect fit for Maya’s friendly and outgoing personality while incorporating her passion of classical genre painting. Painting on walls in homes and public spaces, she specializes in logos and lettering to large scale faces murals. Her artistic style emphasizes on colors and light, while using painterly brushstrokes.
When Maya is not in the studio, she can be found enjoying live music, playing golf, or being outdoors with her dogs.
