Hello, my name is Maya C. White and I am a visual artist living in the mountains of Asheville, NC and South Florida. I graduated with a BFA in Studio Art from Western Carolina University, where I studied painting and played on the Division 1 Women's Golf team. I have also studied art restoration in the beautiful Italian city of Florence at the Lorenzo de Medici Instituto, and completed a summer residency program at the New York Academy of Art. In my studio, I work in acrylic, oil and, watercolor, painting pet portraits, landscapes, people, abstract work, and currently series of interior landscapes, all rich in color with a story hidden beneath. My paintings have been featured in galleries and exhibitions, including The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts and Maria V. Howard Art Center.
Live event painting is the perfect fit for my outgoing personality while incorporating my passion of classical genre painting. I also paint murals in homes, offices and other public spaces. My artistic style emphasizes on colors and light, while using painterly brushstrokes. When I’m not in the studio, I can be found enjoying live music, playing golf, or being outdoors with my doggos.
